Rashmirathi

(This review is one of Hindi poem by Indian Poet Ramdhari Singh 'Dinkar' I wrote this review assuming reader know about overall Mahabharata story) I was listening to random Hindi poems read by on youtube channel Hindi Kavita. I came across a part of Rashmirathi read by Manoj Bajpayee . Then I got curious and got the book. I started reading and got addicted to it. Though I Knew the Hindi language before but I had not read much Hindi literature. Now I have started to read Hindi literature thanks to Rashmirathi. Coming back to Rashmirathi, It was written by Ramdhari Singh Dinkar during 1950 and published on 1952. Dinkar is gifted word engineering as if goddess Saraswati is sitting on his tongue. Literally, rashmirathi means Sun's Charioteer (Rasmi: Sun rays Rathi: Charioteer) It's a poetic story of Karna. Karna is an Illegitimate son of Kunti which happened to be born when she was unmarried. Vatsayana time of writing is ambiguous but mostly between 400 BCE and 200 CE What is the book about: First, do not take it for granted or expect this book to improve your sex life or you will gain some great sexual knowledge after reading this book. I came across some people believing that Kamasutra is kind of Tantric or magical book through which they can discover sexual awakening, Kamasutra is not ‘spiritual’ book to go through, it's a just guide and piece of literature which will guide through contemporary sexual behaviors. An Era of Darkness: The British Empire in India

Indian Politician and Member of Parliament Mr. Shashi Tharoor win a debate by two third majority at Oxford university which was about the “Britain owes reparations to her former colonies”. Where in his powerful arguments he demanded an apology to India from Brutish (sarcastically word Shashi uses in the preface for British) and asked to pay reparation symbolically 1 pound a year for 200 years. The speech went viral on social media. After that Shashi Tharoor thought to write this book which is an elaboration and very good compilation of the events about British Raj. This book is not an exactly a history book I would imagine but it is a well-researched essay which argues against 20 decades of British Raj in India. Ramdhari Singh 'Dinkar'

रामधारी सिंह दिनकर रामधारी सिंह 'दिनकर' (२३ सितंबर १९०८-२४ अप्रैल१९७४) का जन्म सिमरिया, मुंगेर, बिहार में हुआ था । उन्होंने इतिहास, दर्शनशास्त्र और राजनीति विज्ञान की पढ़ाई पटना विश्वविद्यालय से की । उन्होंने संस्कृत, बांग्ला, अंग्रेजी और उर्दू का गहन अध्ययन किया था । वह एक प्रमुख लेखक, कवि व निबन्धकार थे । उनकी अधिकतर रचनाएँ वीर रस से ओतप्रोत है । उन्हें पद्म विभूषण की उपाधि से भी अलंकृत किया गया। उनकी पुस्तक संस्कृति के चार अध्याय के लिये साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार तथा उर्वशी के लिये भारतीय ज्ञानपीठ पुरस्कार प्रदान किया गया। उनकी काव्य रचनायें : प्रण-भंग , रेणुका, हुंकार, रसवंती, द्वन्द्व गीत, कुरूक्षेत्र, धूपछाँह, सामधेनी, बापू, इतिहास के आँसू, धूप और धुआँ, मिर्च का मज़ा, रश्मिरथी, दिल्ली, नीम के पत्ते, सूरज का ब्याह, नील कुसुम, नये सुभाषित, चक्रवाल, कविश्री, सीपी और शंख, उर्वशी, परशुराम की प्रतीक्षा, कोयला और कवित्व, मृत्तितिलक, आत्मा की आँखें, हारे को हरिनाम, भगवान के डाकिए ।
